How long have you been in business?Web Hosting is an industry and like in any industry experience has to count for something. Our project has been started by a group of very experienced people. Evil Hosting started in January 2005 but the people behind it have years of experience.
How many people work on this project?Only one person works on this project.
Are you using a reseller account?Not anymore. This is a free project and we had to start somewhere, so yes for a while this project was running from a reseller account during the first half of 2005. Now, however, we have our own server, located in the Equinix Datacenter in Ashburn, VA.
What software is installed on the server? What version? (operating system, web server, php, etc)OS: Fedora Core 2, Web Server: Apache 1.3.37, PHP: 5.1.5, Zend Engine 2.1.0, Zend Optimizer 3.0.0, MySQL 4.1.21. For a more detailed look please take a look at our services.
Will I have access to a control panel? Which control panel do you offer?Yes, all of our users have access to a control panel. We are now using the latest stable version of cPanel.
Do you have uptime statistics from a third party monitoring service?Yes. We monitor our server using the free services provided by uppanel.com. For more information, take a look at our uptime page.
What's your uptime guarantee?We do not offer any uptime guarantee.
What means of contact do I have, as a customer, to get in touch with your support team?You can contact support using out support system located here.
Is the support available 24/7 ?Unfortunately we do not offer 24/7 support. However we try and solve all the problems as soon as we find out about them and usualy reply within 24 hours.
Do you offer a moneyback guarantee?We are FREE, so there is no need for a money back guarantee. However, after using our services, should you decide to move on to a different host, we will do our best to help you make the transition as smooth as possible and help you as much as we can.
What's your general "resources abuse" policy? How are the offending websites treated?When the resources used by a website slow down the server or prevent other users from using our services, we suspend it. After this we contact the user and together with him we try to determine what is the cause of the problem.

Do you make backups?Yes. We backup all the users files and databases on a daily basis and we keep weekly backups as well, but keep in mind that things can go wrong with our backups so you should keep your own backups.
Do you have a file size limit?No. Any files you want to upload can be as large as you want, within your account limit which is 100Mb.
Do you place ads on your users website?No, we don't and we will never do this. This is a free and clean hosting project.
