There was a small billing problem yesterday and the provider suspended the server. Since I was on holiday enjoying some time off, I wasn't arround to sort this out and a whole day was lost. Everything is back now.
This downtime was not related to any DDoS attack.

Hello everyone,
Right now, as I write this, Evil Hosting is the victim of a distributed denial of service attack, more precisely a SYN attack (it started at around 22:30 GMT+1).
I'm not sure if this attack has been directed towards Evil Hosting or towards one of the domains that is hosted here, but I'm working with the provider to find out what's going on.
After about half an hour of downtime and a reboot, I managed to reduce the effects of the attack and to bring everything back online, even if the attack still continues.
In case the attack intensifies and the server goes down, rest assured I'm doing everything I can to bring everything online.

I've decided to modify the uptime page, to reflect also the load average on the server and the time since the last reboot, so the uptime become the server status page.
