uptime
A lot of people have been asking us if we monitor our server's uptime and the uptime of each of the main services (http, ftp, pop and smtp). Well, we didn't at first, but we decided to start monitoring the server. Since we are a free hosting project, and we don't make any money out of this, we can't afford to pay and have our server monitored every 5 minutes, so we decided to use the free services provided by uppanel.com that allows us to monitor 5 services that are checked every 30 minutes.
The problem with monitoring from a free account, is that it can be innacurate. Since the services are checked every 30 minutes, if a service goes down for 3 or 4 minutes and a check is performed during this time by the monitoring site, it will be reported as 30 minutes of downtime.
Vice versa, if a service goes down right after a check has been performed and comes back online right before the next check, having a downtime of 20 - 25 minutes, there will be no downtime reported.
The services are monitored since June 2006 so that's reflected in the "Alltime Uptime". For a more detailed look click on each of the services.
